Return Policy:
The Maine Pooch happily accepts returns/exchanges of unworn, unwashed, and undamaged items. Items with tags must be returned to us with the tag still attached and free of pet hair. You must contact us and initiate a return within 5 days of the delivery date.
We recommend trying new items on inside in case the item does not fit and needs to be returned.
*We are unable to accept returns/exchanges on items bought with us at craft fairs*
Making a return:
- Email us at themainepooch@gmail.com and initiate a return.
- Once approved, instructions and an address will be sent for you to send the item to us. Customers are responsible for all shipping costs. Please note: Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
- The product must be unworn, unwashed, undamaged, and unaltered with no pet hair in order for the return to be accepted.
- Once the item is received on our end, we will inspect it and contact you if the item is accepted or not. If accepted, we will send you an email that your refund is processing. If denied, you will not receive a refund and need to pay for return shipping. Returns are only denied if step #3 is not followed.
- Please allow up to 7-10 business days from the time we received the item back for your return to be processed.
Making an exchange:

- Items must be unworn, unwashed, undamaged, and unaltered with no pet hair in order for the exchange to be accepted.
- Once the item is received on our end, we will inspect it and contact you if the item is accepted or not. If accepted, we will send the new item to you. If denied, we will send you an email stating why and an invoice for shipping to send the original item back to you.
- Please allow up to 5-10 business days from the time we received the original item back, to ship out the new item.
We accept exchanges for different sizing on a case per case basis. An exchange will be decided on whether or not we have the desired product in stock. If the desired item is out of stock, an item with same price can be chosen or a refund can be issued. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and undamaged with no pet hair. Items with tags must be returned to us with the tag still attached. You must initiate an exchange within 5 days of the delivery date.
Items that cannot be returned/exchanged:
- Any items that are on sale (including holiday/seasonal sales) and marked “final sale”
- Items that are customized in any way
- Mystery items / boxes
- Subscription boxes / boxes of the month
- Soaps / Balms
- Hair accessories
- Items bought at Craft Fairs
If for any reason a return/exchange is denied, an invoice will be sent to ship the item back to you. If the invoice is not paid, The Maine Pooch is not responsible for sending the item(s) back or issuing a refund. Cases will be closed after 7 days if no response.
The Maine Pooch is not responsible for any items that are sent back to us for a return/exchange without a confirmation to do so first. There are NO exceptions to this policy.
